The Rana family is the most well-known royal family of Nepal. Through this book, for the very first time, all the recipes from the palaces of Nepal will be now be accessible with beautiful photographs accompanying it. This luscious new volume does full justice to a previously unknown area of Nepali cuisine, set in a uniquely glamourous cultural context. It is a wonderful and worthy addition to the compendium of South Asian cookbooks. Mrs Rana, over the years, accompanied her husband on his various assignments to the most remote regions of not just Nepal, but across the world. In the process of making a home away from home in various establishments, she specialized in the art of entertainment by taking several cooking and entertainment courses, during which she realized that the old Rana recipes would die a natural death if not documented. This was when the idea to publish a cook book on Nepali Rana cuisine germinated.
